5 Spice Veggie Stir Fry

What You’ll Need

  • Half cup of carrots (peeled and chopped.)

  • 1 cup of mushrooms (sliced.)

  • 1 cup of broccoli florets.

  • 3/4 cup of bell peppers (sliced.)

  • 1 cup of snow peas.

  • half of a white onion (diced.)

  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.

  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil.

  • 1 tablespoon of Smokey Mountain 5 Spice.

  • Half cup of your favorite Asian style sauce.

What to Do

  1. First step is to make sure all of your veggies that needed to be chopped or sliced are generally the same size. You want this to ensure an even cooking time. Everything but the onion, you want that to be diced up well.

  2. Heat up your oil in a wok or large pan over medium high heat. You want to add the veggies in order based on how long they take to cook. Carrots, onion, and mushrooms should be first. Cook these for around 6 minutes before adding other veggies.

  3. Next up, add the broccoli, bell peppers, and snow peas, as well as a few teaspoons of water to help steam the vegetables and soften them up. You want to cook this mixture for another 5 mins or until you can tell the veggies are tender and the water has mostly evaporated.

  4. Add the garlic, ginger, Smokey Mountain 5 Spice, and your favorite Asian style sauce into the wok and stir to ensure an even coat of everything. Drop your temp to low and let sit for a bit to really meld all of those flavors together.

  5. When the veggies are cooked to your liking, you can serve them alone, over rice, or over a pile of Lo Mein. Either way, its going to be delicious.
